John and Tim, two elderly Barbadian men, collide on the streets of Toronto during a snowstorm. The childhood friends, who haven't seen each other in almost fifty years, repair to a nearby bar where they catch up on one another's lives. Gradually they reveal their innermost truths, and we learn the haunting story of Lang, a young Chinese woman Tim loved all too briefly, and of the real reason for John's visit to Toronto.
